 What's the Mining Karate Club's connection with the Midwest Karate Association:

The Karate Club trains at Midwest Karate Association in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, North Central Region (Karateka are free to train at the St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Savage Karate dojos).  Featured in the photo from left to right:

Funikoshi was invited to introduce this martial art to Japan in 1922

Shotokan is also referred to as:  Japan Karate Association style (JKA) of karate.
